All you need to know about exercise, milk production, and recovery after giving birth.

Can you work out while breastfeeding? The answer is yes—and it’s highly beneficial for your physical and emotional recovery.

Why exercise is helpful:

  • Boosts postpartum recovery.

  • Improves mood and reduces stress.

  • Increases energy levels.

Does it affect milk supply?

Moderate exercise does not reduce milk quantity or quality. After intense workouts, lactic acid may slightly change the taste, but it’s harmless—and most babies continue feeding normally.

Tips for active moms:

  • Wear a supportive sports bra.

  • Breastfeed before your workout for comfort.

  • Stay well hydrated.

Movement and milk production can go hand in hand—with great benefits for both body and mind.
